Your screenshots never leave your Mac — unless you attach one to feedback yourself.

Your screenshots

Everything is rendered on your Mac. Shotspa reads new screenshots from the folder macOS saves them to, and never changes, deletes or uploads your original.

Buying and your licence

Dodo Payments takes your payment, handles tax and emails your licence key, under its own privacy policy. Dodo tells Shotspa's server about each sale, and about each payment that fails; the server keeps your name, email, country, the amount and your key, so it can check keys, help if you lose yours, and notice when checkout is failing people. It doesn't keep your address, phone number or card details.

Shotspa checks your key with that server now and then.

Your trial

So a trial can't be restarted, Shotspa sends that server a one-way code made from your Mac's hardware ID, and the date your trial began. The code can't be turned back into the ID, and it's used for the trial and nothing else. The server keeps the code and the date.

Anonymous usage counts

Shotspa tells TelemetryDeck when the app opens, a trial starts or ends, and which features are used — a look chosen, a copy, an export — with the app and macOS version and a random ID made on your Mac. Never your name, email, key or screenshots. Switch it off in Settings → Share anonymous usage, and nothing more is sent.

Crash reports

If Shotspa crashes, freezes or can't reach its licence server, it sends Sentry (EU region) what went wrong in the code, with the app and macOS version, Mac model, a random ID, and when the app opened and closed. Never your screenshots, name, email or key.

Feedback

Only when you press Send: what you wrote, your email if you give one, a screenshot if you attach one, the app and macOS version, whether you're on a trial, and a random ID that limits how much one Mac can send. It's kept so I can answer it.

Updates

About once a day Shotspa asks updates.anuragsoni.com for the newest version.

This website

This site sets no cookies. It counts page views, which sections are scrolled to and which buttons are pressed, along with the linking site, country and device type, under a random ID that lasts one page load, so visits can't be tied to you; these counts are deleted after 90 days. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts traffic the same way, and nothing is sent if your browser asks not to be tracked. The servers above may keep standard logs, such as your IP address and the time of a request.

Your data

Email shotspa@anuragsoni.com from the address you bought with to see what Shotspa's server holds about you, or to have it deleted. If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
